Mechanized Farming
The term "Mechanized Farming" refers to the usage of contemporary equipment in farming. On many modern farms, laborers are replaced by modern machines. This makes significant financial gains while saving a lot of time and labor.
For example, in modern orchards, even fruit picking is done by machinery. A tractor approaching a tree with a long metal arm tightens its grip around a branch and starts shaking it rapidly.
When the ripe fruit falls to the ground, a special device captures it. Then the fruits are moved along a conveyor belt, and they are packed into large wooden boxes. With only three men, this tractor can collect approximately thirty tons of fruit in a single day.
After being unloaded, the selected fruits are washed, sorted, and packed using a big machine. Therefore, when ripe fruit is purchased by a housewife, it really is "untouched by human hands."
